Frog and Toad (3rd - 4th Grade)

Registration has been extended through Tuesday, April 28th at noon!  Sign up at https://bit.ly/2VQDsok.

Frog and Toad, based on the Frog and Toad book series by Arnold Lobel

Playmakers is excited to present this year's 3rd and 4th grade play in a slightly different format this year!  All 3rd and 4th graders who would like to participate are invited to take part.

Is there a lottery or fee to participate?

No lottery required!  Because of the online nature of this program, all 3rd and 4th graders are welcome to participate.  Depending on interest, we may assemble more than one cast so all interested students can be involved.

This program is provided free of charge to all students.

How does casting work?

During our first meeting, students will learn how to find the digital script and casting form.  There will be a different set of actors playing the characters in each scene, and students can use the casting form to indicate character and scene preferences.  Each student will be assigned one scene.

What will rehearsals look like?

All cast members will be added to a Team for Frog and Toad.  Rehearsals will happen as Live Meetings within that Team.  All actors will be called for the first rehearsal on Tuesday, April 28th from 3:00 - 3:30pm. For all other rehearsal the actors in each individual scene will rehearse together.

During "casting", students will be able to give preferences for rehearsal days and times.  Each scene will rehearse once a week in a twenty minute slot.

What about the technical elements (sets, costumes, props)?

Students will be creating their own technical elements as part of the rehearsal process.  Guidance will be given and requests will be simple (e.g. wear something green).  Technical elements are not required in order to participate.

How will the show be "performed"?

During our "tech week" (the week of performances), each scene will be recorded individually via Teams.  Those scenes will be edited together and combined with a few other elements.  On "opening night", we'll host a livestream showing of the performance for the Sacred Heart community.  Following that, the performance will be made available for on-demand viewing.

How do we register?
