Reading Specialists
We are thrilled to have two exceptional academic specialists at Sacred Heart School, Ms. Ayishah Robinson and Ms. Esther Kritovich. They hold essential roles in advancing our students' reading skills, concentrating on those in need of academic support. A select group of students are identified through collaboration among teachers, administrators, and our school counselor. Selected students receive systematic, explicit instruction rooted in research-proven best practices for reading and language. Regular communication is provided to families who receive reading support.
Ms. Robinson's focus is on foundation skills , covering phonology, sound-symbol association, syllables, morphology, syntax, and semantics within our cozy library pod. Her approach meets the needs of different learning styles to engage all students.

Ms. Kritovich, on the other hand, works with proficient readers, employing research-backed strategies to enhance reading comprehension, such as identifying author intent, effectively utilizing text features, and articulating supporting details. Together, they play pivotal roles in fostering our students' reading growth.
